Charbel Blinds is an independent, family-owned business based in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. We have a welcoming showroom with attached workshop, and offer a no-obligation in-home consultation service covering South Herefordshire, the Forest of Dean & Gloucestershire border, and the North Cotswolds district.

We are extremely proud to have built a business with strong ethics. Our desire to treat customers fairly, and to be the best we can, remains at the heart of all we do. Most of all, we are proud to be part of your home or business, and proud to do all of this from our lovely HQ in Ross-on-Wye.

Our business model has never been about selling blinds at the cheapest price possible; instead we focus on providing value for money by offering quality products at fair prices, coupled with a personal end-to-end service including no obligation quotations, a 'no hassle' promise, and guaranteed aftercare.

When Charbel Blinds was set up back in 2018 we considered, but dismissed, operating purely as a mobile service. Instead, we wanted to trade from premises. That's because we've always focused on being accountable to customers; if things go wrong, as they do from time-to-time, we will be exactly where you first found us, with a member of the team ready to provide support. We understand that made-to-measure window coverings can be a significant investment, and we're often told our fixed location provides valuable peace of mind. We also appreciate it can be difficult to make decisions in a limited timeframe, or without important family members present, hence why we welcome and encourage you to visit us in store in addition to your in-home consultation.

Right from the get go we've manufactured our own products. While we don't manufacture every product we supply, we do manufacture the majority, including rollers, verticals, Allusion, Vision, Perfect Fit, Romans, pleated, and cellular blinds. Over the years, we have invested heavily in specialist training, tooling, and equipment in order to grow.

We encourage all customers to shop around; competition is good for everyone. If you choose not to place your order with us, we'd love you to consider another small independent rather than a national chain.

Who we are

Charbel Blinds was created in 2018 by husband & wife team John and Alex.

John and Alex came together from two very different career paths, with John employed in the window coverings industry since retiring as a professional jockey, and Alex previously employed in senior positions for online comparison giants moneysupermarket & gocompare, before successfully running her own consultancy business.

In 2019, Daisy joined us on a part time basis and has been with us ever since. Daisy is an all-rounder, working in both the showroom and in the workshop, and is usually the first person to answer the phone (if it's not at her ear, it's in her back pocket!).

We also have Graham working with us two days per week, mainly down in the dungeon on the metal work, and assisting with manufacturing and installations during busier periods.

John Pritchard

John is co-owner with wife Alex, and has been employed in the window coverings industry since retiring as a professional jockey in 2008. You will meet John at your initial measure, and he is also responsible for the majority of our installations. John lives in Chipping Norton, which enables us to provide a mobile measure & installation service in the North Cotswolds locality.

Alex Pritchard

Alex is co-owner of Charbel blinds with husband John, and is responsible for the day-to-day running of the business. Alex also makes our Roman blinds. Prior to life with Charbel Blinds, Alex held senior positions with online comparison giants moneysupermarket.com & go.compare. Originally from Chester, Alex has lived in Herefordshire since 2008, and in Ross-on-Wye since 2012.

Good causes

We love to do our bit for good causes. By supporting our business, and by shopping locally, you are helping to increase the number of donations we're able to make, and the number of good causes & community events we support.

Samantha's Little Prickles

Samantha's Little Prickles is a local, self-funded, hedgehog rehabilitation and rescue. We donate a sum each quarter to help Sam pay for medical supplies and veterinary sundries at her local Veterinary practice. We're also a drop off point for food, bedding & newspapers.

The Regiment Support Service is a not-for-profit social enterprise that produce regimental notebooks. The notebooks are given free to all officers and soldiers who donate a day’s pay to the Regimental Association which helps serving and old soldiers who fall on hard times.
